March Madness to Feature Cardboard Fans

Basketball fans sitting on the blechers show emotion as a basketball falls through the basket and net to score.

March Madness to Feature Cardboard Fans Unless you’re made out of cardboard, your chances of seeing this year’s March Madness games in person aren’t terribly good. While Lucas Oil Stadium will be allowed to operate at 25 percent capacity, the remaining seats will be filled with cardboard cutouts. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t be there in spirit. For $100, the NCAA will put your face on one of the cutouts. And if you pay an extra $35, they’ll send it to you after March Madness is over, league officials say. The good news is the money the league makes from the cutouts will go to two good causes: Hilinski’s Hope and the United Way’s Central Indiana COVID-19 Recovery and Rebound Effort, according to the NCAA
